Since our successful MechRunner Kickstarter campaign, we've been very busy at Spark Plug Games working on both MechRunner and Firefly Online. At Comic Con, we unveiled Firefly Online, while at E3 we showed MechRunner.
But, we're never too busy to send out some updates on MechRunner, the successfully funded action-arcade game where you're a combination 'mecha and battletank. So, let's take a quick look at what's new.
Platform updates -
In cooperation with Sony, we're planning to launch MechRunner on PS4 and Vita later this year. We're also self-launching on PC, via Steam, in Q4 2014.
In case you missed it, here's a short video from E3 showing MechRunner in action -
Gameplay changes -
Showing MechRunner to editors and consumers has been a great opportunity to garner feedback, and we've been taking that feedback to heart. One of the biggest changes to the overall gameplay on all platforms is we've removed the "on rails" movement, and are now letting players more directly control the XP41 vehicle and 'mecha in the game. We are also adding additional content to build the immersion around combat sections and the arcade-action feel of the game.
Visual updates -
Last but not least, we've been polishing up MechRunner's visuals, which you can see in the screen pack below -
