This milestone event, which saw players new and old come in full force to celebrate MapleStorySEA’s birthday, cements the game’s continued legacy as one of the biggest MMORPG games, and the undisputed king of 2D games, which continues to be ever-popular today as it was when it first launched in 2005.

Players such as Shawn Hong, 21, who flew to Malaysia from Singapore to attend the event with friends, laments: “it’s been a while since I’ve had so much fun at an event! There were so many activities and games, and prizes. My friends and I walked away with a smile on our faces! It truly was, a fun-fest!”

For uninitiated individuals who have not found the joy of MapleStorySEA, they could walk the ‘Maple Trail’ which showed them 12 years of the brand’s journey, via images and game collaterals that took it to where they are today.

For MapleStorySEA players, the top 3 guilds who partook in the Guild Challenge and triumphed, namely Dragons Guild from Singapore, INCOMPLETE from Malaysia and LUXURYCLUB who had members in both countries – will be forever immortalized on a dedicated page and have their members walk away with gaming peripherals from Razer, to better play MapleStorySEA with!

It was a truly memorable event that players, and even members of the public, thoroughly enjoyed. That’s a wrap for our 12th, see you next year for the 13th!

About MapleStory

MapleStory is a free-to-play, 2D, side-scrolling massively multiplayer online role-playing game, developed initially by the South Korean company Wizet and bought over by Nexon thereafter.

There are several versions of the game available for specific countries or regions, each being published by various companies such as Asiasoft. MapleStory is a free to play game, but players can purchase in-game enhancements such as character appearances and gameplay enhancements from the Cash Shop with real money.

The “Maple World” allows players to transverse and explore different continents and defeat different monsters residing in each. As they progress, their character gains new special skills and strength – as is typical in role-playing games. Interactions between players take the form of chatting, one-to-one trading or by playing mini-games. Adventures in the “Maple World” can get collaborative as players band together in parties and guilds to partake in quests and hunts.

Special mentions are that in-game marriages are also supported in MapleStory where the game will recognize the two players as a heterosexual couple. Guild identity can be easily noticed by the emblem below their character’s name. An in-game popularity stat called Fame can be raised or lowered by players. Other interactions also include mini-game challenges, such as Omok or Match Cards.Dear Sir or Madam,Dear Sir or Madam, EditorEditorEditor
