(Myrtle Beach, SC) June 21, 2010– Creative Kingdoms, the minds behind MagiQuest– the world’s largest live action game, are proud to announce the arrival of MagiQuest Online: The Portal Adventure Series; Chapter One. The Clan Courtyard and Twisted Woods Realms. Developed in partnership with Cyan Worlds, creators of the best-selling Myst series, MagiQuest Online allows players to take their adventures from the real world into the virtual one, and back.

In MagiQuest Online, players discover that there is more to the adventure than the seventeen MagiQuest Live action centers around the globe. There are in fact two MagiQuest worlds– the real and the virtual– separated only by portals that must be protected by skilled Magi, as MagiQuest players are known. Dragons, golems, and all sort of despicable creatures hope to escape through these portals so they may enter the real world and wreak havoc upon mankind. Only by braving this online adventure can players defend both worlds from these rogue’s schemes.

The popular MagiQuest Live is a game designed for both gamers and non-gamers alike as a way to inspire physical and social activity by using puzzles and challenges similar to those found in a video game. MagiQuest Online now connects participants’ live play experience to their virtual play experience in an instantaneous way so that play is tracked back and forth. MagiQuest Online takes gaming to a new level, and is the first breakthrough collision between virtual and real life.

“More than 1 million Magi have set their imagination free at MagiQuest Live centers since we first launched the game in 2005,” said Rick Briggs, Chief Interactive Officer and Co-Founder of Creative Kingdoms.“We created MagiQuest Online to give both new and accomplished Magi an entirely new world to discover. A world that, through our patented FX technology, intertwines with the real-world MagiQuest experience.”

Thus, MagiQuest Online is unlike any other video game on the market today because it’s completely integrated with the MagiQuest Live centers. Upon first starting up MagiQuest Online, players will be able to enter their Magi name and password, and will find all their accumulated experience, powers and treasures waiting for them in the virtual world. In addition, anything earned in MagiQuest Online will be useable upon their next visit to any of the Live centers. Best of all, those who are brave enough to complete the online adventure will have an exclusive quest awaiting them as well.

“My favorite aspect of MagiQuest Online is that it promotes collaboration and communication, which have always been cornerstones of the MagiQuest experience,” said Denise Weston, Director of Imagination and Co-Founder of Creative Kingdoms.“People who make new friends at a MagiQuest Live location can now meet up and adventure together online no matter how far apart they live. Ultimately, having fun with friends is what MagiQuest is all about.”

MagiQuest Online: The Portal Adventure Series; Chapter One. The Clan Courtyard and Twisted Woods Realms retails for $9.99 and is rated E for Everyone. It is available at most MagiQuest Live centers, and online at www.magiquest.com/mqonline.
