Indie Educational Game Developer to Showcase The Counting Kingdom
Boston, Mass. (February 25, 2014) – Little Worlds Interactive, an independent educational game studio, will be exhibiting February 28 – March 1 at the 2 nd annual LearnLaunch “Across Boundaries” conference. The studio will join five hundred other industry experts and educators to discuss the opportunities for the edtech industry to improve K-20 education in the United States. Little Worlds Interactive will be exhibiting The Counting Kingdom, a math game for kids that is due to release for iOS, PC and Mac late spring.
“The edtech community in New England is incredibly vibrant,” said Founder Jenna Hoffstein. “We look forward to some great conversations about the future of educational games, as well as sharing the incredible progress we’ve made with The Counting Kingdom.”
The studio will be exhibiting The Counting Kingdom, their in-development educational game for kids 7+. Players practice their addition skills by using math to cast magical spells. Kids play as the Apprentice, a brave young wizard learning the secrets of math magic. Monsters have swept into the kingdom and surrounded all the castles, and players must set out on a journey to rescue them one by one using their addition skills. The game will release for iOS and PC late spring.
The Across Boundaries conference is co-sponsored by the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and will include keynote speakers like Professor of Learning Technologies Chris Dede and EdSurge founder Betsy Corcoran. Little Worlds Interactive will be exhibiting The Counting Kingdom at an entrepreneur demo table.
