New Tomb Raider game celebrates Anniversary with a collection of No.1 positions around Europe
Eidos Interactive Ltd., part of SCi Entertainment Group, one of the world’s leading publishers and developers of entertainment software, is pleased to announce that the latest Lara Croft adventure, Tomb Raider Anniversary, which released on June 1st throughout Europe, has taken the No.1 spot in a number of territories on both PlayStation 2 and PC.
In the UK the game went straight in at No.1 on PlayStation 2 and PC and has remained at No.1 for a second week running. In Germany the game also went straight in at No.1 on PlayStation 2 and PC and in France the game went in at No.1 on PC and was the best-selling game (in value) on PlayStation 2 (source: GFK).
Inspired by the first Tomb Raider videogame, originally released in 1996, LARA CROFT TOMB RAIDER: ANNIVERSARY is a totally new adventure for Lara, faithfully preserving the elements which made the original Tomb Raider such a classic, selling over 7 million copies worldwide. The Tomb Raider series is still one of the best selling videogame franchises of all time with over 32 million copies sold and two major feature films released, starring Angelina Jolie.
