Applications Now Open for Accelerator Program
DURHAM, NC, June 28, 2011— Joystick Labs ( www.joysticklabs.com),?? an innovative accelerator program exclusively for video game developers, announced today that it has opened applications for its 12 week accelerator program.? Joystick Labs seeks innovative games with intriguing distribution models and cutting-edge approaches to monetization.
For each game team selected, Joystick Labs provides up to $20,000 seed capital, mentoring, support, and introductions.? Joystick Labs creates a Board of Advisors made up of experienced studio heads, programmers, artists, and marketers who work closely with each team throughout the 12 week program.?? The shared experience with other entrepreneurs in the Joystick Labs environment allows the developer to focus on creating a great game and removes uncertainty and risk from the often intimidating process of launching a game studio.? The 12 week program takes place in Joystick Labs at the American Underground in Durham, NC.
Joystick’s program continually accepts and reviews applications, and teams are invited to start as soon as Joystick has the resources, mentors, and lab space available.?? Unlike many accelerator programs that begin and end on fixed dates, this enables teams to join Joystick on their schedule, and offers additional mentorship from teams that have a few months already in the program.
Several titles are in development by the five game studios launched by Joystick Labs in 2010.? M.U.S.E., from Lab Rats Studio, will be the first to launch in Q3 2011, followed by Saturday Morning RPG from Mighty Rabbit Studios.?
