FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ATLANTA - June 7, 2017 - Indie game showcase curators Indie MEGABOOTH have revealed a new roaming event series - MEGASHOW: Games. Music. Art. - that will feature indie and local community content across a variety of playful mediums to bring people together to celebrate and connect with one another. The MEGASHOW organizers aim to produce a one-day event that fosters all types of indie communities, with a special emphasis on local talent and to be a discovery launchpad for participating acts and vendors. The first stop on the MEGASHOW calendar is Atlanta on July 15, 2017.

In addition to partnering with Sony PlayStation and Atlanta-based Adult Swim Games to assist with curating the videogame lineup, MEGASHOW organizers are currently accepting submissions from local vendors wishing to participate. There is no submission or entry fee, however vendors are responsible for set-up, staffing their area and teardown. Georgia-based vendors and creators from all walks of (art) life are welcome to apply for consideration, including art or interactive installations or merchandise crafters with a focus on pop culture, and so on. Additional vendor info can be found at megashow.indiemegabooth.com.

Initial details for the ATL edition of the MEGASHOW: Games. Music. Art. include:

Date: July 15, 2017

Time: 1pm-1am (exact time subject to change)

Location: Tabernacle (aka. The Tabby) - 152 Luckie Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30303

The lineup of MEGASHOW music acts, artists and game developers will be announced when tickets go on sale, however organizers can confirm that Adult Swim Games will have a sampling of their released and pre-release game catalog playable during the event.

“Our goal over the last five years of creating independent videogame showcases has been to curate great content and cultivate positive communities. We’re super excited to be bringing this concept to a broader audience that focuses on local development scenes, music and creative types to deliver a special full-day event that has a little something for everyone,” said Kelly Wallick, Overload of the MEGASHOW: Games. Music. Art. and Indie MEGABOOTH. “Atlanta is a hotbed for up-and-coming hip hop artists and is home to so many talented musicians and artistic creators, plus a passionate academic and professional developer community. It felt like the best city for the MEGASHOW to make its debut.”
