Support the “Play to Give” Movement – You Have Change In Your Pocket!

Minneapolis, MN –October 22, 2013– Global Gaming Initiative’s Sidekick Cycle is a one-touch downhill biking game that was released in late September on iOS. It was warmly received by thousands of gamers who “play to give”, quickly raising enough money to give away 10 bikes through World Bicycle Relief.

Now Global Gaming Initiative, continuing its mission to build gaming experiences that connect digital-world customers to real-world causes, is broadening the universe of Sidekick Cycle players by making the game FREE. The mechanism for raising money is now focused on in-app purchases, where players can buy bikes, adorable sidekicks, avatars, and more.

“I want Sidekick Cycle to make people aware of how bikes can make an enormous impact in a disadvantaged child’s life,” said Elizabeth Sarquis, CEO and Founder of GGI. “By making the game free, more people than ever will have a blast playing and I’m confident they will respond to our message about making a positive impact in the world with bikes.”

Even if players download the game and don’t make an in-app purchase, Global Gaming Initiative encourages them to support the “play to give” movement by sharing any of these three things:

·         ·         The #ChangeInYourPocket hashtag.

·         ·         The new Sidekick Cycle trailer: http://youtu.be/SViE63zV8YI

·         ·         The www.ChangeInYourPocket.com URL, which has a wealth of video and info.

Developed by It Matters Games in Berlin, Germany, Sidekick Cycle is now available for free for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch through the App Store. It is a universal app that is GameCenter enabled. An Android version is coming later this fall, which will also be free.
