First London Games Festival events confirmed

Consumer shows, industry events and awards ceremonies are amongst the first events announced for this year’s London Games Festival.

Running from September 27th to October 28th, this year’s festival kicks off with Eurogamer Expo 2012 and a UKIE Gala event that will feature industry charity, GamesAid, handing out cheques to its charities.

The next set of events includes the Games Media Awards (October 18th) and Future Publishing’s Golden Joystick Awards (October 26th), before MCM’s London Comic Con (October 26th – 28th) closes the month-long celebration of all things gaming.

There is no better way to bookend the London Games Festival 2012 than with two high-profile consumer events,” said festival director Kirsty Payne.

These are just the start – we have some wonderful activities planned, each of which will celebrate the culture of gaming in a unique way. We’ll be launching the full website soon where people will be able to begin planning their London Games Festival. With more to do than ever before, we’re sure it’s going to be a tremendous success.”
