Lady Shotgun release Buddha Finger, an addictive action game designed for anyone who can count to ten!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Indie developers Lady Shotgun, a“virtual” studio set up last year by industry veterans Anna Marsh and Sarah van Rompaey (who’ve worked on numerous console titles including the Anniversary and Underworld installments of Tomb Raider) and graphic artist, Gabriella Pavan celebrate the release of their first title - and the unconventional development process behind it. Inspired by DS hits Elite Beat Agents/Ouendan, and straight-to-video martial arts movies of the 1970’ and 80’s, Buddha Finger is a fun and addictive iOS action game designed to appeal to both casual players and dedicated gamers alike. Part twitch action and part beat 'em up, Buddha Finger will challenge your reflexes as you use an ancient kung-fu pressure point attack to tap, touch, swipe and spin your way to victory.
Designed specifically to feel great to play on a touchscreen, the game is intuitive and approachable enough to make the most casual of gamers feel like a nimble-fingered ninja, while the deep scoring system with multipliers and super time boosts rewards skilled players and makes for addictive fun!
In a break from traditional game development methods the entire team behind Buddha Finger worked part time hours from home, this flexible approach to work was a core reason for Lady Shotgun’s founders, all mothers of young children, to go it alone after long successful careers in big companies.? It’s potentially this approach which has resulted in a far more diverse workforce than the industry average - 6 out of 10 of the team are female.?
“Our working style is completely different to the large studios we came from, but we’re extremely happy to have proved that this way of working is eminently do-able!? We’re looking forward to working on future projects in the same way, potentially much larger and more ambitious games” says Marsh.
Buddha Finger is iOS native and will be ported to other mobile platforms soon. Buddha Finger is available now the App Store.
