Etherlords Releases Today

The innovative mobile strategy game now available on the App Store

MOSCOW, Russia - 4 September 2014 – Nival, an independent developer renowned for their strategy games, is proud to announce that  Etherlords  is available now for free on the Apple App Store for both iPad and iPhone. The game has been the Top Strategy title in the Nordic countries during the soft launch and will be Featured by Apple worldwide on the App Store.

Featuring innovation in its ‘world building’ mechanic, offline PvP battles and optimized smartphone controls,  Etherlords nonetheless retains all the trademark ingredients of a full-scale strategy title. The game with its easy to navigate interface is designed specifically for playing with just one finger, on the move or while commuting.

Etherlords is a deep yet streamlined strategy game set in a rich fantasy setting where a devastating Cataclysm has ruptured the world in to countless pieces. Taking on the role of a powerful Etherlord, players must fight other demigods using a vast array of collectible creatures to win valuable Matter, the vital ingredient for restoring the shattered world.

Commenting on the release of  Etherlords, Sergey Orlovskiy, Founder and CEO of Nival said,

“We have put all of our experiences of developing strategy games over the past 17 years in to what we consider the best strategy game developed specifically for mobile devices. While traditional strategy games are made for hours-long gaming and require full immersion, Etherlords has been designed to play on the move. That is one of the reasons why we are so excited about Etherlords. It is one of the first games that will push the genre on mobile.”

Etherlords was created in partnership with Targem Games.

About Etherlords

Etherlords is a 3D strategy game played in an isometric perspective. The game has a unique “world-building” gameplay mechanic inspired by Carcassonne with players spending their resources to build tiles that become living earth (terrain). This terrain generates Ether and gives birth to Creatures that can be collected and deployed into battle. The game also includes an extensive multiplayer component with asynchronous PvP powered by user-generated worlds and creatures (which can be “fused” together). There are more than 180 creatures in total, including Wolves, Dragons, Witchdoctors, Scorpion Kings, and even a mighty Colossus.
