Epsilon eSports has replaced Natus Vincere in the ECS CS:GO Developmental League as the latter pulled out of the competition at the last minute.
Epsilon will now play in the developmental league portion of the ECS Season 2 competition, competing against seven other European CS:GO team to try and book a place in the main ECS season. With $3.5 million up for grabs in the main league this gives Epsilon a massive opportunity, but with the likes of Gambit, Flipsid3 Tactics and Godsent also in the competition it certainly won’t be easy.
This is now the second time NaVi have pulled out of ECS. Initially they were one of the teams in the main league for season one, but pulled out just after the competition started citing a packed schedule as the reason. The first time around they were not replaced. This time they were given a shot at the developmental league in order to try and win back their place in the main competition, but have again pulled out.
The ECS developmental league kicks off on September 9th, with the main Season 2 league starting on October 11th. All of the action will be streamed live on Twitch.
