Crossfire Europe with 10,000 Euro total prize money in the ESL Major Series

Team format 5on5– 5,000 Euro prize money for each season– Qualifiers in France, Germany, Poland and Europe in February 2012

The Free2Play FPS game Crossfire Europe will become part of the tenth and eleventh seasons of the ESL Major Series. The ESL Major Series is the highest European league for electronic sports (eSports) and its status can be compared to the one of the UEFA Champions League in football. Each season the Electronic Sports League (ESL) pays out more than 25,000 Euro in prize money for the ESL Major Series. Each Crossfire Europe team has to consist of five players. The total amount of prize money is 10,000 Euro and is divided between the next two seasons.

Players can look for teams either in the ESL forums at www.esl.eu/eu/crossfire/forum/1683/26872 or on the homepage of Crossfire Europe at http://crossfire.gamerage.com/Clan/MyPage. The same applies to teams looking for players, of course. To get some practice, the ESL is offering several competitions. Apart from the match making tool ESL VERSUS there are several ladders for all team sizes and a huge 5on5 Search&Destroy Opening Cup starting at January 5. More tournaments for the French, German, Polish and European section are in the works.

In order to take part in the ESL Major Series one needs to successfully take part in a qualifier tournament. There will be national qualifiers in France, Germany and Poland as well as European qualifiers. The qualification rounds for season X will start on February 1 so everyone has enough time to look for a team and prepare for it. Afterwards, in March 2012, the group stage will commence with the qualified teams. After the following playoff rounds the finals will be held in early June 2012.

Qualification for ESL Major Series season XI will start on August 27, group stages and the subsequent playoffs start in October. The finals are scheduled for December 2012.
