Community Publisher Fig Announces First-Ever Returns to Investors

Fig Game Share Investors have already doubled their money after just the first couple of weeks of launch

San Francisco, CA - August 9, 2017 - Fig, a community centered publisher, today announced its first-ever returns to investors. Accredited investors who purchased Fig Game Shares for “ Kingdoms and Castles,” the first Fig-funded game to be released, have earned a 2x return (100% return on investment) on their initial investment, after just a couple of weeks following the game’s launch. The original investments were completed earlier this year in January. This marks the first announced returns for Fig.

“Fig takes the best instincts of the community and combines them with a publishing model that gives control back to the developers and the fans that believe in their projects - today we proved that community publishing is a successful way to launch a video game,” said Justin Bailey, CEO and founder of Fig. “By sharing the commercial success of a specific project with supporters, community publishing shifts the focus from that of just successfully funding games to instead focus on the successful development and commercial viability of the titles. ”

Kingdoms and Castles, developed by Lion Shield Studios, generated over $1,000,000 in sales after just two weeks of the title’s launch. The video game sold enough copies within 48 hours of release to recover initial investments, and it will continue to generate revenue-sharing for these Fig Game Share investors for up to the next 3 years.

Fig offers two ways for supporters to be involved in campaigns: backers have the choice to purchase perks associated with the title, and/or invest to earn returns based on revenue from the game’s sales.

Fig Game Shares make it possible for purchasers to earn returns from all revenue generated by the video game, such as from advances, publishing, distribution and buyouts, which can even be generated prior to a game’s launch. These returns bring overall returns for Fig Game Share investors on realized investments, including previously unannounced returns related to yet to be released games, to  more than 2X (100% ROI).

Fig offers non-accredited investors the option to financially support video game development and publishing through the purchase of Fig Game Shares, which are qualified by the SEC under the JOBS Act’s Regulation A. Each series of Fig Game Shares generates returns from the sales of an individual video game title. Since its launch in fall of 2015, Fig has hosted three of the top four video game crowdfunding campaigns across all crowdfunding sites.
