Firm is the first PR company to sign up to industry association

Character Communications joins Tiga

PR company Character Communications has joined UK development trade industry body Tiga.

The firm was established in January 2007 by Kristien Wendt, and counts leading independent studio Rebellion amongst its clients.

“Becoming the first PR and communications company to join Tiga is very important to us," said Wendt. "The UK’s interactive entertainment industry is one of the most exciting, dynamic and innovative in the world, and companies that recognise the advantage of raising their profile and that of their products, will benefit, even in the current economic climate.

"Character is in the best position to offer essential communications services to Tiga members and the UK games community, and we look forward to adding value to the evolving Tiga network.”

TIGA CEO Richard Wilson added: "In a world where games have become more popular than music and DVDs, Tiga is also changing. We are engaging more effectively with politicians and with policy makers, we are raising the media profile of the video games industry and, as demonstrated by Character’s decision to join Tiga, we are expanding the range of disciplines and services available to Tiga members.

“With the services Character provide, our members will have access to a level of communications professionalism relatively few companies currently embrace. Working with the services that our affiliate network offers, developers will be able to represent themselves and the industry as a whole effectively and competitively.”
