Blasphemous’ Kickstarter Campaign Adds Console Rewards

8 th June 2017, Sevilla, Spain – Spanish indie developers The Game Kitchen have today updated the Kickstarter campaign for their dark and brutal non-linear platformer, Blasphemous, with the news that the game will be heading to consoles as well as PC.

Hand-crafted by The Game Kitchen, the makers of the award-winning The Last Door. Blasphemous is an action-platformer that combines the fast-paced, skilled combat of a hack-n-slash game with a deep and evocative narrative core, delivered through exploration of a huge universe comprised of non-linear levels.

Playing as The Penitent One, a rogue nomad tackling the evil of this world alone with only its trusty sword by their side, players will explore the savage land of Orthodoxia. Fight and slay creatures, each one bigger and more fearsome than the last. Engage in epic boss battles and have your skills truly challenged by the enormous and fierce creatures that rule this damned universe.

Launching on the 23 rd May Blasphemous’s Kickstarter campaign previously offered the game on PC, Mac and Linux but today’s update sees The Game Kitchen open that up further with new pledge tiers for console players. Existing backers who want to switch their pledge to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or Nintendo Switch can now to do so via the Kickstarter page.

Those who pledged $40 to $120 can freely change their original PC pledge by simply selecting the “(Console)” tier counterpart by selecting “Manage your pledge” from the campaign page. Those who pledged over $200, do not need to take any further action as they will be asked the platform of their choice via a form at the end of the campaign.

Finally, anyone who has currently pledged below $25 but would like to receive a console version of Blasphemous as their reward can do so by upgrading their pledge to at least $25 that has “(Console)” on the end of the tier. In additional to a digital copy of the game on console, pledges at $25 will also receive some nice extra perks such as a digital download of the OST, and your name featured in the game's credits.
