Black Cloud Studios Announces ‘The Fall Of Gyes’, A Stunningly Beautiful Graphics Novel Preluding ‘After Reset’

The Story Told For Popular Hardcore Post-Apocalyptic RPG!

San Francisco, California, February 25 th 2014: Independent games developer and publisher ‘Black Cloud Studios’ is happy to announce a great start to their KickStarter™ crowdfunding campaign for ‘After Reset: The Fall Of Gyes’, a sci-fi graphic novel with stunning cinematic quality and an intriguing story inspired by the classic sci-fi horror films of Ridley Scott. During the campaign’s initial week the crowdfunding project has reached close to 50% of its targeted goal, and the developer fully expects to exceed their milestones!

‘After Reset’ is a massive open-world post-apocalyptic RPG for PC, Mac and Linux. It was originally green lit on Steam in less than five days and boasts an incredible 15.000+ fans on Facebook. It is a classic open-world RPG set on a future Earth that is dying slowly from a devastating nuclear cataclysm that ended almost all life on the planet. Developed by fans of hardcore RPG’s such as Fallout™ 1 and 2 , Baldur’s Gate™ and Planescape: Torment™, and born out of the disappointment of the cancellation of Fallout: Van Buren™ a decade ago, the game fills a void for a classic old-school RPG that hardcore fans of the genre have been clamoring for.

With ‘The Fall Of Gyes’, a 32-page graphic novel shedding light on the backstory of the game’s starting location, as well as one of the game’s companions, while delivering a compelling sci-fi narrative in its own right, the developer intends to create a visual masterpiece that has the same cinematic and storytelling quality of classic films like The Thing® or Aliens®, set in a claustrophobic atmosphere where no one knows exactly what is happening or who the enemy is until disaster strikes! The initial funding goal covers 32 beautifully realized pages in classic 17 x 26cm (for print), or 6:9 ratio for digital. Stretch-goals met will offer additional print sizes, and the possibility of additional novels.

About ‘After Reset’

Planet Earth. 132 years after the ‘Reset’, the thermonuclear apocalypse that ended human civilization. Around one third of the globe is covered by ‘Yellow Zones’ where the ruins of cities are covered with radioactive dust. In these areas, anarchist survivor groups have taken control where uncontaminated food and drinking water are valued on a par with human life. Another third of the earth is in the agony of the ‘Red Zones’, the epicenters of the deadly anomalies that arose as a result of a nuclear chain reaction in the atmosphere and the morphing of the planet. The majority of life is not capable of surviving in the Red Zones that makes them a perfect home for mutants. The planet has become, to all its former inhabitants, unrecognizable.
