Heiko Hubertz honoured at AllStars Venture Capital Awards following $350million recapitalization
London, September 23, 2011– Bigpoint ( http://www.bigpoint.com), an international leader in online games, last night celebrated success at the Investor AllStars Venture Capital Awards, where its CEO Heiko Hubertz was named‘Entrepreneur of the Year’.
The award win adds to what has already been a stellar year for Bigpoint and its CEO and founder. In addition to securing $350million worth of investment– the second largest investment ever in an online gaming company– the company also celebrated passing the 200 million user milestone in June. In a further reflection of the company’s ongoing commitment to delivering the most cutting-edge games to its ever-expanding user base, Bigpoint also last week announced the takeover of the entire production team of 49Games, an internationally renowned studio specialising in sports entertainment software. This takeover followed the addition of 47 former Planet Moon Studios staff to the company earlier this year.
