Boxed version sold out in Germany / Strong showing in Steam charts
On Monday last week Battle Worlds: Kronos launched on Steam, GoG and other sites. The Kickstarter-backed turn-based strategy game gave a strong showing in the Steam charts, staying in the Top 20 for four days, reaching as high as 1st place on Mac and Linux and 4th on Windows.
In Germany, home territory of Kronos developer King Art Games, a boxed copy of the game is available in two flavors: standard and Missile Command Editon. The latter sold out within the first two days, the standard version was out of stock in most places during the first week.
Jan Theysen of King Art Games says: 'We stand dumbfounded before the success of Battle Worlds. We want to thank all the Kickstarter backers and the early buyers: You have done more than just buying a game, you have delivered a statement, telling the gaming world that turn-based strategy is still a genre with commercial potential. Still a genre that merits publisher budgets. Still a genre that people love.'
Please note: The Kronos story is not over yet. Android and iOS versions are planned for early 2014, a browser version is in the making.
