Back to Bed has woken up

Aalborg, Denmark – Feb 25 2014: The highly acclaimed Danish student game Back to Bed is finally back on track.

Just before Christmas the team behind the surreal puzzle game Back to Bed, promised some big news on Kickstarter regarding the project, and can now finally unveil what they have been working on, and what is going to happen in the near future. The reveal turned out to be an investor to help finish the game, since hobby development of the game had ground to a halt, and the game wasn't getting anywhere. Thus creating a small game studio named Bedtime Digital Games. And as part of the agreement with the investor, the team managed to fund not only Back to Bed, but also a spiritual successor. So, in short, the backers actually helped Kickstart, not just a game, but a game studio!

Now Bedtime Digital Games will be working full time on finishing and polishing Back to Bed, and thereafter on to more games that mix surreal environment with creative gameplay. And the team will of course find ways to implement the original Back to Bed backers in to the development of the next game.

The team is currently working on getting Back to Bed ready for a release on IOS, Android and other platforms following that. Besides just finishing the game the team is also working on a bunch of other elements for the game;

  • New story elements with hand-drawn art
  • Updated controls and optimization for touch screen devices
  • Extra art assets
  • General production value
No fixed release date as of yet, since both investor and dev team agree on not rushing the game.

For people interested in trying out the current build and talking about the game, team game designer Jonas Byrresen, will be at GDC 2014. Contact: Jonas@bedtimemail.com
