Leaving is a poetically charged artistic game, joining the first wave of artistic expression in this medium that explores the inventive field of experiential gaming. It follows such acclaimed titles as The Graveyard (Tale of Tales, 2008), Heavy Rain (Quantum Dream, 2010) and Dear Esther (thechineseroom, 2012).
In short, Leaving is not your typical game. It is an ambiguous short 3D interactive drama inspired by the poetry of Antonio Machado. Leaving features a single-player three-act sequence, where you play a role, like an actor in the theatre, and explore what it might mean to a character to leave home.
Arguably controversial, it will open the doors to users who enjoy exploring new fields of gaming and poetry, while simultaneously engaging with people who delight in novel and thought-provoking forms of artistic expression.
The game features a delicate musical score and art deco elegance complete with high quality stylised 3D environments.

About Mimicry Games:
Thomas J. Papa is the artistic game designer and lead developer of Mimicry Games based in Copenhagen, Denmark. He is a talented, experienced indie Game Designer who has studied extensively in Holland, Japan and the USA . He is currently pursuing his MSc in Game Analysis at ITU Copenhagen. Thomas's commercial experience at Europe's leading serious game developer, VSTEP, saw him working on a number of commercial game titles. He is currently exploring the bleeding edge of experiential game design in his indie titles for the iOS platform.
