Puzzle-Based RPG for Mobile Brings the Tabletop to the Tiny Screen
BOSTON, July 13, 2017 — Ruins of Glitterdeep evokes tabletop board gaming on mobile, with tricky puzzles to solve, wily monsters to kill, and a stalwart dwarf desperate for fame and riches. Delve into the monster-ridden halls of an ancient dwarven civilization seeking untold treasures in this puzzler RPG.
Ruins of Glitterdeep is a turn-based puzzle RPG where not only do you control the hero, you also build the dungeon. Lay tiles to form the dungeon and create a path to the hidden treasures, but watch out - nasty monsters that want nothing more than to eat your tasty dwarf have tricks of their own to play. Spend your gold in town between dungeons to upgrade your hero, unlock powerful new dungeon tiles, or even release a new character for further delves.
“We’ve been playing fantasy tabletop games together for a long time,” said Paul Siegel, Lead Engineer. “We wanted to find a way to fit all the fun of a complex RPG into a quick pocket-sized experience.”
“Killing monsters is always fun,” said Michael Woods, Lead Designer, “but we also wanted an exploration component. Laying tiles creates endless combinations that emulates well the excitement of exploring unknown passageways.”
Players will also be able to unlock a new character, obtain healing potions, and eventually pit their heroes against each other in competitive dungeon-crawling. The developers look forward adding more dungeons, monsters, characters, and exciting new features in the weeks to come.
