Akella Online has signed an agreement with leading Australian game developer, Auran to distribute the highly anticipated MMOPvP game Fury across Russia (and CIS).

Built on the Unreal Engine 3, Fury is being acclaimed as the ultimate PvP experience, combining the best elements of the MMORPG and FPS genres. A unique matchmaking system ensures that battles are fair and evenly contested. Each game type has different goals as well as a time limit to ensure that players can achieve meaningful results with just a small investment of time. Fury’s unique incarnation system also allows players to bypass the rigid class system of traditional MMORPGs. Players can mix and match any combination of over 400 abilities available in the game to create multiple and diverse versions of their Avatars; switching them around at will between Warzone battles.

Announced for release in October 2007, Fury is shaping up to be a leading competitive PvP title with its bold blend of Avatar progression, combat, pacing and game types. Set in a mythical alternate universe with a distinct Eurasian style where players fight not only for themselves, but for the survival and success of their realm (server).

Fury is free-to-play with a revolutionary business model that is tailored for both casual and hardcore players. Gamers can play for free and compete effectively or subscribe for additional services. Auran is careful to point out that subscribing players will have no advantages in combat over free players.

“We have had an excellent partnership with Auran in the past and are honored to be the Russian publisher of Fury, a game that will be excellent for our market which has lots of hardcore and very competitive players that want the best entertainment,” says Alexander Kozhevnikov, Head of Akella Online.

In a truly unique end of beta event, Auran has announced“Fury Challenge” which will be running in the final weeks of September giving players the chance to compete for over a Million dollars worth of prizes. For more information, players can visit www.furychallenge.com..

Competitive gamers around the world have been very eager to set foot into the exciting new world of Fury– the next step in online competitive play.

Akella’s localization studio

Akella pioneereed localization in Russia– over 10 years ago, we were the ones who started officially releasing foreign games to the Russian market.

This year, the core project to hit store shelves was the massive multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) Everquest 2. EQ2's key features are a gigantic world and a great deal of game content, so our localization team had to handle tons of translation work. The final version will contain over 15 megabytes of Russian text and about 90 hours of live speech. The game vocabulary itself is 1.8 megabytes– a million lines! This is unprecedented work, since no one has ever released a localized version of such an expansive game in Russia before.

Among single-player games, we would like to highlight localized versions of Fahrenheit, Knights of the Temple 2, Earth 2160, Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones, Never Winter Nights 2, and Armed Assault.
