A new breed of TCG lands on Kickstarter

Tequila Games launches a crowdfunding campaign

Wroclaw, 2014-02-24 - Tequila Games, an up-and-coming game development from Poland, launches a Kickstarter campaign for its latest project. Earthcore: Shattered Elements is a dynamic Collectible Card Game for PC, Mac, iOS and Android that combines card collecting with fast-paced combat and true tactical depth. The game features both a dramatic story-based Single Player campaign and a robust online Player Versus Player mode. Tequila Games is seeking $200 000 in funding to finish the second half of the production and release the game Q4 of 2014.

Earthcore is something that has been sorely missing from the market,” explains Lukasz Deszczulka, CEO of Tequila Games. “A TCG that retains all the hallmarks of the genre, such as card collecting, tactical combat and deck-building but mercilessly trims all the fat. The unique thing about Earthcore is that you can play for as little as five minutes and still enjoy a full online gaming experience.”

The gameplay of Earhcore: Shattered Elements is based on a very simple idea of three battling elements. Water extinguishes fire, fire devours nature, nature is nourished by water. The basics are easy to grasp but individual card skills add immense strategic depth to the duels. Some cards add protection to others, some can change their element, some move on the battlefield. Eventually, fights stop being about matching colors and turn into high-stake battles of the wit.

In today’s market climate, with every publisher chasing the next casual hit making millions of dollars per day, funding a fully featured TCG such as Earthcore through traditional means is nearly impossible,“ says Radek Smektala, Creative Producer at Tequila Games. “ With Kickstarter, we will be able to stay faithful to our original vision and finish the game with no compromise, supported by people who really believe into what we want to achieve.

The campaign is set to run until March 26. During this time, Tequila Games promises to publish regular updates with sneak peeks behind-the-scenes, chapters of an audio-book set in the world of the game and more unique features. To see the campaign for yourself and make a pledge, please visit:
