Deep Silver presents new units from Iron Front™ D-Day and Launches Community Mission Maker Contest
LARKSPUR, CA– December 6, 2012 - The Allied Forces are about to advance in Iron Front™ D-Day. Today, Deep Silver presents new information about the American units from the upcoming DLC for their tactical WWII shooter. The expansion pack introduces new weapons, armor, and military equipment from a new aspect of the war– the Western Front.
In Iron Front D-Day, players can fire bazookas and Thompson submachine guns, drive Sherman tanks, or attack from above in a P-47 Thunderbolt. Also featured are the famous Higgins landing craft which the Allied Forces used to land at Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944. Thanks to these units, capturing the mainland on the coast becomes a strategic highlight.
The DLC will be available exclusively for PCs as from December 14, 2012, at a price of $ 9.99.
Moreover, Deep Silver and the developer X1 Software/AWAR are today introducing a new contest in which participants have a chance to win the D-Day expansion. In order to take part in the contest, players must create and submit a new custom gameplay mission created with the game’s mission editor. Existing missions may not be submitted as contributions to this contest. The winning missions will be made available for all players to download together with the next game patch release, and in addition to receiving the D-Day DLC as a contest prize, the creators of the winning missions will be mentioned in the DLC credits.
The contest begins today and ends on December 14, 2012.

About Iron Front– Liberation 1944
Iron Front– Liberation 1944 is based on the engine of ARMA II Operation Arrowhead by Bohemia Interactive. The story takes place in southern Poland during the Soviet Offensive in the summer of 1944. The player takes on the role of a Russian or German infantryman, using teamwork, tactical skill and authentic war machines to battle for victory. The German campaign focuses on slowing the advance of the Soviet troops, while the Soviet campaign is all about breaking through the enemy's resistance. However, the player does not have to do all this on foot: Tacticians will control tanks, including the famous German battle tank Panzerkampfwagen VI or "Königstiger" and the Russian Stalin tank JS2, or fighter planes such as the Focke Wulf 190 and dive bombers like the Stuka or the Petlyakov PE-2.
Online is where the battle really heats up in Iron Front– Liberation 1944: Players can complete missions either cooperatively or compete with each other in special multiplayer modes such as "Capture the Flag" or "Attack and Defense". Iron Front– Liberation 1944 also includes an extensive mission editor, enabling players to intuitively create their own missions and share them with their friends online, thus guaranteeing that there will never be a shortage of new missions.
Iron Front– Liberation 1944 is available via Windows PC download partners for a suggested retail price of $29.99.
