It is with great joy that ADDICT of FICTION™, a small community driven website has finally secured a venue for a charity gaming marathon.
The marathon is set to take place in January 2013 in Manchester’s Fab Cafe. It’s a small venue on Portland street, people are encouraged to come along and show support.
We are also working hard to get some exclusive marathon gaming cocktails on sale. We will also have a few promo shirts and wrist bands for supporters.
We’re currently putting together a banner exclusive to close friends of the site and kind donors. So if you would like a logo on it please let me know.
We have also launched a huge give away campaign and intend to raffle off some items to raise even more awareness and money (Including three consoles).
We are attempting to raise£300 AT LEAST, that’s£100 a day but more would be amazing!
HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED?
Our original team has had to disband due to various reasons; they’ve all been very supportive but simply can’t make the actual event. So if you– or your website want to join in then feel free to contact us and we will pick someone that we will fits the bill (Obviously we have to cap at a low number). You’ll get a shirt, wrist band, logo on the banner and of course an official GWR certificate.
We are asking all websites to pass this news around, as it’s for a good cause and is being supported by a lot of companies, Including croteam.
WHY ARE WE DOING IT?
ADDICT of FICTION have been proud supporters of charity since we first started. Special Effect really speak to us because our staff has a lot of handicapped and disabled members, all of which obviously love gaming. Special Effect is the only UK charity of this kind.
A FEW SHOUT OUTS
We really want to thank the bar:“Loading” in Falmouth, who gave us full support– we’re based near Liverpool so we simply couldn’t head down to their venue sadly.
Eurogamer, these guys have supported us since day one, and they’ve really been helpful each staff member is always welcoming and kind, so we really just wanted to extend our thanks.
Games Press , thanks again for allowing us to post this it’s going to hopefully get some attention to the cause and help it grow!
Special Effect, couldn't be doing this without you!
And finally, any supporters, even if you donated£2, we really, really appreciate it.
