GAMERS from Nottingham are this month (October, 2012) invited to try a new wrestling game for free involving two trampolines provided by Super Tramp at an annual videogame festival in the city.
Super Tramp has supplied GameCity with trampolines for its‘Get on Top’ game, which will be located at the Venus Patrol site on Market Square from October 20 until 27.
Bennett Foddy, Developer of Get on Top, who has also created web games including GWOP, GIRP and CLOP, said:“The game was developed at a summer videogame retreat in Denmark in August (2012) and was a collaboration between myself and Doug Wilson, who is the creative mastermind behind the award-winning live action game‘Johann Sebastian Joust’.
“It’s a physics-based wrestling game for two people where each player bounces on a trampoline to make their on-screen characters jump. To control the wrestlers’ arms they use a wireless videogame controller. The aim of the game is to push your virtual opponent to the floor.
“The idea behind the project was that jumping on trampolines is inherently fun and any game built on top of this activity would automatically be fun too.”
GameCity is Europe’s biggest videogame culture festival. It gives people the opportunity to experience a huge range of playful events in and around Nottingham. Entrance to the festival is mostly free.
Martin Schofield, Chief Executive Officer of Super Tramp, explained:“We are currently supporting an initiative called‘Get Britain Bouncing’, which aims to promote trampolining as a fun activity for all the family.
“Trampolining is good for your health and co-ordination and it is a fun and easy way for people to exercise, so Get on Top is not only fun, it also has health benefits too.
“When we heard GameCity needed two trampolines for its videogame festival we were happy to help as we feel this brings bouncing to a whole new audience. We hope lots of people will enjoy having a go at Get on Top.”
Super Tramp was founded more than 25 years ago when it introduced the first garden trampolines into the UK.

Back in the 1980s the family-run business was pioneering, now it is seen as one of the nation’s best-known suppliers of trampolines to retailers and consumers.
Martin continued:“We pride ourselves on customer service and attention to detail– for example, all our trampolines are equipped with the exact number of springs needed to give the recommended user the best bounce possible.”
Super Tramp trampolines are available for all the family and can fit in most outdoor spaces and gardens of all different shapes and sizes. It also stocks trampoline replacement and spare parts to fit most trampolines, including other brands too.
GameCity takes place from Saturday, October 20 until Saturday, October 27. Get on Top will be located at the Venus Patrol site on Market Square in Nottingham.
