Firm musical favourite Tim Wright aka. CoLD SToRAGE, author of music for games such as WipEout, Colony Wars, Lemmings, Formula One, Gravity Crash and many, many more announces today that until the end of August 2012, all his music can be purchased for 80% less than the marked asking price. Why? Well, it's to celebrate the commercial release of the very first Compact Disc in Germany on this day back in 1982.

That's right... it really is 30 years ago today that those silver discs we take for granted made their very first appearance on the high street.
Wright says;
“I just found out that on this very day back in 1982, eager shoppers in Germany had their very first digital music experience... I can't imagine what that was like - to be in the shop queuing up, and then hearing music with probably a lot more depth and clarity than your average person would have had access to back then. It must have been mind blowing...
These days we take digital music far too much for granted. I still have my vinyl collection and a box-full of cassette tapes that get an airing once in a while, but without digital music distribution, a lot of budding and talented amateur musicians wouldn't have an audience today.”
Wright is currently busy penning music for a long awaited PSYGNOSIS 25 celebration album, containing full CD quality re-mixes of his original AMIGA music featuring in games such as Lemmings, Shadow of the Beast II&III and Agony. He is also writing music for upcoming games and developing music for other multimedia projects.
