On October 20th, with the participation of the City of Rome, there will be the official opening of the first real Video Game Museum in Italy



Rome, August 30th, 2012

AIOMI,?the Movement for Video Game Culture ( www.aiomi.it) is proud to announce that in 50 days the first real Video Game Museum,VIGAMUS - The Video Game Museum of Rome, will open to the public,? on?October 20th, 2012.

Supported by the City of Rome and located in the historical center of the city, in a space of about 1,000 square meters, VIGAMUS is not only the first and only Italian Video Game Museum, but also an actual research center, dedicated to this new and fascinating medium, and it will support any kind of initiatives and activities in order to join entertainment and culture and to create an attraction pole for all the people who love video games.

VIGAMUS will open to the public at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 20th, with a special event: an extraordinary 2-day edition of the IVDC - Italian Videogames&Digital Contents Conference - in order to celebrate with international special guests and field experts the past, present and future of Video Games.

VIGAMUS will also feature the exclusive launch event of WRC 3 FIA World Rally Championship, developed and published by Milestone, which will be introduced to press and public during the two days of the Video Game Museum’s opening event. The title, last chapter of the official series dedicated to the WRC World Championship, will be available for the public to try it, and there will be an extraordinary exhibition which will tell all the behind-the-scenes details of a product which represents the Italian video game excellence.

VIGAMUS will show a permanent exhibit which will tell the early history of video games, and will promote its culture thanks to seminars and conferences in collaboration with the University of Rome "Tor Vergata". Thanks to an interactive area, you will be able to touch and play the titles which made the history of video games, and have a look to the future thanks to the new technologies of gaming.

For the big opening event, the entrance ticket purchased on Saturday, October 20th will allow free access to the visitors also in the following day, and to participate to the drawing of many prizes, among which two portable consoles.?
