Ojom launches new swashbuckling puzzle game
(Berlin&London, 16th July 2007): Ojom GmbH, a leading creator and global publisher of mobile games, today announced the launch of Cubes. The cubes in question are deposited on the sea bed in a game that is based on the popular falling 3D block format. The game has a colourful twist with lively action graphics and a storyline that follows the fortunes of pirates and buccaneers.
This game is set in the days of skulduggery and piracy on the high seas, when the sight of the Jolly Roger struck fear in the hearts of sailors. Like all pirates your character is in search of buried treasure, but to find it you need to drop sets of 3D coloured cubes into the sea to form a block. The cubes are volatile and explode once you line them up in the correct sequence, rewarding you with bonus points and clearing space for you to add more cubes to your underwater block.
The game is packed with endearing features and quirky touches, the animation gives the cubes a soft inflatable quality that allows them to bounce around the screen as they slot into place before exploding! A gruff pirate eggs you on with clichéd remarks and a handy treasure map can lead you to where X marks the spot.
Marc Buße, Channel Manager, of Ojom GmbH, said:“Love it or loathe it but the block style format was the first type of game that had universal appeal, it is such a simple format to understand and it can be played by anyone from your best friend to your parents. This is a fun and addictive game that will appeal to casual gamers and mobile users that have a passion for pirates and searching for buried treasure."
Cubes bring another dimension to the Ojom portfolio of mobile games, with its new twist on the block format underpinned with its whimsical references to the golden age of pirates. The game is now available on operator portals across Europe. For more information go to www.ojom.com
