Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn beta hits 1m sign-ups

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Square Enix’s complete reworking of the admitted mess that was FFXIV, has garnered over 1m registrations for its beta program.

The publisher announced the milestone following the launch of its third and final weekend of beta testing for the game that kicked off late last week.

The momentum seems to be building for the title as it approaches its official launch next month, no doubt a welcome change from the initial effort and all the trouble it brought with it.

A Realm Reborn is set to release August 27th on PC and PS3 – with crossplay support between the two platforms planned for launch. The MMO is a totally new game built off the experience Square Enix gained from the less than stellar launch of the original Final Fantasy XIV.
