Zynga has claimed its fourteenth acquisition in just twelve months, having now bought the San Franciscan outfit DNA Games.
DNA Games describes itself as a “technology-driven, casual gaming platform” hitherto funded by Battery Ventures and Bain Capital Ventures.
Financial terms of Zynga’s buyout were not disclosed.
DNA Games said its flagship title, Casino City, clocks 1.5 million monthly active users, on top of another 900,000 monthly users of its other games.
Zynga said the studio’s expertise “will be a valuable asset in next-generation game development for Zynga.”
In the past twelve months Zynga has bought XPD in Beijing, Challenge Games in Austin, Unoh Games in Tokyo, Conduit Labs in Boston, Dextrose AG in Frankfurt, Bonfire Studios in Dallas, Newtoy in Texas, the Flock team, Area/Code in New York, Floodgate Entertainment in Boston, Market Zero in Texas and Londoners Wonderland Software.
Many of these firms have experience, and have acquired riches, in the smartphone games and apps market.
