Indie designer Richard Franklin picks up £1,000 prize

The winners of the DX Studio Winter 2008 Games Contest have been announced.

Independent developer Richard Franklin has taken the main prize of £1,000 and a commercial pro licence for game creation/engine tool DX Studio.

His game Stewardess 19 impressed the judges with its 'well integrated graphics, great music and friendly UI that made for a really fun and well balanced game'.

The runners up prize went to Meridian Core, with DX vendor Worldweaver described as 'a beautifully modelled fantasy game where you battle your way past monsters', by Michael Cook.

“The competition has been a resounding success and we have seen some fantastic talent emerge. It’s also been great to see the high level of diversity that has come out, though it has made the judging very tricky,” said Worldweaver founder Chris Sterling.

All thirteen of the final entries are available to download and play for free from www.dxstudio.com.
