VIDEO: The origins of Monument Valley

Unity Technologies continues its series of Developer Profiles this week with a look at Ustwo and its best-selling puzzle game Monument Valley – and Develop readers get the first look.

The video offers a behind-the-scenes look at the Shoreditch studio, the background of Ustwo’s games team and sneak peak at how Monument Valley came together. The team also discusses the role Unity played in making their vision possible.

It was recently revealed that the game has sold more than one million copies across iOS and Android.

"For a long time, I wanted to make a game about architecture," explains lead designer Ken Wong. "There are games that have architecture in them, but they to be more in the background and I wanted to put architecture in a prominent role."

The video also features clips from the game’s soundtrack, which earned victory for freelance audio designer Stafford Brawler at this year’s Develop Awards.
