A student of Sheffield Hallam University has recreated Goldeneye 64 using Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 4.
The footage below shows the iconic Facility level and was created by Jude Wilson for his portfolio as an environment artist.
In the video’s description, Wilson explains that his inspiration has been drawn from both the classic Nintendo 64 game and the original 1995 film.
“I have combined the N64’s original layout with the film’s look and feel using Unreal Engine 4,” he writes. “I have tried to get it as realistic as possible, using the film’s interiors, props and lighting but remaining true to the original game at the same time.”
All of the artwork and assets have been created from scratch. In addition to UE4, Wilson also utilised 3DS Max, Marmoset Toolbag 2, Photoshop, nDo2 and Substance Designer.
