California studio Obsidian Entertainment is in the process of downsizing its workforce, according to a growing number of messages from developers said to be made redundant.
It is believed that the studio’s South Park game has been affected by staff cuts, with experienced project leads now out of work.
Meanwhile, is is speculated that that the Fallout New Vegas studio has cancelled its next gen project in connection with the redundancies.
Develop has approached Obsidian for clarification. The company was not availabe for comment at time of going to press.
The cutbacks have led to an outpouring of messages from former Obsidian developers across various social media channels.

And an alleged inside source has told GameBanshee that the studio axed its “future next gen project" resulting the loss of as many as 30 jobs.
