Unity Awards 2011 finalists named

Scores of new Unity-developed games have been named as finalists for the upcoming Unity Awards 2011 event.

The finalists have been chosen from “an extensive and stellar list of games”, Unity said, and these have been whittled to less than thirty finalists. Just seven winners will pick up the prestigious Unity Award at the upcoming Unite 11 event in San Francisco.

The categories have been split into best student entry, best non-game, best use of Unity’s cross-platform support, best graphics, best gameplay and the definitive Grand Prix Award.

Another award, called the Community Choice, is won via public vote.

Unite 11 runs from September 28th to 30th at the Masonic Center in San Francisco.
