Studio founder unable to secure new projects and funding
UK racing game developer Brain in a Jar is closing, the studio's founder and creative director Carl Dalton has said.
The Cheshire studio was formed in 1998, and had developed a number of racing titles such as Indy Car Series, Indianapolis 500 Evolution, Golden Age of Racing and Kart Racer.
It was announced as recently as last month that the developer had signed up for Microsoft's ID@Xbox self-publishing program for the Xbox One.
But in a statement to our sister-publication MCV, founder Dalton said he was unable to secure funding for the studio to carry on operating.
“Despite our best efforts we have been unable to secure projects or funding that would enable the company to continue and so it is with a heavy heart that I have closed the company,” said Dalton.
“To everyone that we have worked with in the past we send our heartfelt thanks for some truly great times. We did our best. I wish the best for the future of the team in whatever they choose to do next.
