UK Games Talent and Finance CIC, the games development support organisation funded by the UK government, has announced a new campaign aimed at getting graduates into the industry.
Tranzfuser is a talent initative aimed at funding graduates’ game concepts and bringing them to market as a full title.
Applicants will be granted up to £5,000 to invest into building a new team or developing an existing team.
Those successfully accepted into the programme will be able to refine their games over the summer before showcasing them in a national exhibition this September.
At the showcase, teams will be able to pitch for a further £25,000 from the UK Games Fund to commercialise their title and launch a full-bodied studio.
Hubs will based around the UK’s regions, with locations currently confirmed for East Scotland, North East England, South East England, South Wales, West Scotland, North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, West Midlands, London and Northern Ireland.
“I’m delighted to have realised a long-time ambition of joining up early-stage talent recognition and showcasing with prototype funding,” commented Paul Durrant, a talent and funding veteran.
“The way in which Tranzfuser will become a fresh talent pipeline for the UK Games Fund is a real first. Tranzfuser teams that win our funding will become the top tips for future success.”
