Customised version of film production tax credits to be proposed in the summer

The UK Department for Culture, Media and Sport has revealed to Develop more details on Labour’s plan for game development tax breaks.

The culture department said that UK game tax break system will be a customised version of the existing tax system for the film industry.

It will be consulted on after a new government forms in the summer, a spokesperson for the department said.

“We will consult with industry, the Treasury and the department for business on this,” the spokesperson added.

“The expectation is that it will work in a similar way to the current tax relief system for film production expenditure. That’s just as guidance though,” he added.
