Publisher set to create a large number of new jobs in Canada province

Ubisoft plots big investment in Quebec

Ubisoft is plotting another large investment to generate a large number of jobs in Canada.

Quebec is home to Ubisoft’s largest studio in Montreal, which already houses more than 2,300 staff, as well as Ubisoft Quebec, which employs a further 300.

Details are currently scarce, but the move, to be announced later today, could mean the opening of new studio in the Quebec province, or an expansion of the Montreal or Quebec City studios.

The publisher recently appointed Assassin’s Creed III producer Francois Pelland as the executive director of development at Ubisoft Quebec to oversee a number of “ambitious” triple-A projects.

A string of local government officials will be at announcement, as will Ubisoft Montreal and Toronto CEO Yannis Mallat.

The press conference will be held at 10am EDT (3pm BST).
