Ubisoft brings leading franchises to iOS

Ubisoft is to bring its leading franchises Assassin’s Creed and Rabbids to the iOS, the publisher has announced.

The French outfit also revealed plans to release more of its brands to the App Store, including titles based on Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon and Prince of Persia.

“Continued advancements in mobile phones and tablets are bringing new audiences to gaming,” said Ubisoft exec Chris Early.

“Ubisoft has the well-known brands and experience as an innovator on new platforms to bring quality games to mobile customers. We’re excited to directly bring the company’s well-known brands and quality games to these players.”

The publishing giant said Assassin’s Creed Rearmed for the iOS is available for free, and has been developed from the ground up for the platform and will feature a unique control system and online multiplayer.

Ubisoft also announced that it is expanding its Facebook games line-up with new titles based on CSI: Miami, House and NCIS due for release in 2012.
