Trade association Tiga is offering British developers £1,000 each to exhibit at this year’s Gamescom event in Cologne.
UK studios can apply for the money to demonstrate their tech and flaunt their product to a global games industry audience.
Tiga CEO Richard Wilson told Develop he encourages all studios to apply, adding that the most eligible would be smaller businesses, start-ups and studios that haven’t exhibitd at Gamescom before.
The scheme, known as the Trade Show Access Programme, has been arranged in conjunction with UKT&I.
Earlier in the year the policy offered up to £1,400 to developers exhibiting at GDC in San Francisco.
Wilson told Develop that the grant sum available for Gamescom exhibitors would be £1,000.
The grant money can only be used for exhibiting, not travel or other related expenses, though Tiga representatives are campaigning to open up the money to cover more costs in the future.
Meanwhile, Tiga has announced it is the official partner for Gamescom. It will oversee the UK’s official presence and promotion throughout the event.
“At Tiga our vision is to make the UK the best place in the world to do games business,” Wilson said.
“So we are delighted to be the official partner of Gamescom, one of the world’s critical trade fairs for the video games industry. The UK is one of the world’s creative hubs and a global centre for video game development.”
