The recently rebranded THQ Nordic today announced that it’s closed a deal on all games, projects and properties owned by NovaLogic Inc, including PC classics like Delta Force, Comanche and Joint Operations.
Nordic Games made a name for themselves by taking on several of THQ’s better-known franchises and then eventually the company’s name, rebranding themselves as THQ Nordic. They’ve been picking up franchises left and right in recent years, picking up other classic PC franchises Desperados and Jagged Alliance, in addition to key THQ franchises Darksiders, Stuntman, Red Faction and a host of other THQ titles.
This deal means that not only do THQ Nordic own the rights to NovaLogic’s stable of military-focussed action games, they’re also allowed to use NovaLogics’s trademarks, if they feel that way inclined.
This is the end of the road for NovaLogic, who stopped producing new titles in 2007 but have been marketing and promoting their back catalogue.

THQ Nordic currently has 23 games in development, with just 10 of those announced. After this NovaLogic acquisition though, the number looks like to rise, with Reinhard Pollice, THQ Nordic’s business andd product development director, said they’re interested in further development.
"NovaLogic pioneered military simulations and military-themed multiplayer shooters with vehicular combat and also clearly targeted at an adult audience," said Pollice "We are extremely satisfied with the new additions to our portfolio, and also very thrilled about how to continue some of said franchises, we are open for talks in this regard if any developer approaches us with a concept for a potential sequel to any IP."
