More than one million toys and t-shirts sold each month, Rovio says
The wheels (or wings) show no signs of falling off the Angry Birds juggernaut anytime soon. Developer Rovio Mobile says its franchise has now generated more than 350 million downloads across all platforms.
Are people still playing? Just a bit. General manager Andrew Stalbow told the TechCrunch Disrupt conference yesterday that mobile gamers alone play Angry Birds for more than 300 million minutes a day in total.
And eat your heart out Crazy Frog: Rovio is currently selling more than one million plush toys and one million t-shirts every month off the back of the game's success.
Stalbow hinted at more Hollywood partnerships to follow its deal with 20th Century Fox that spawned Angry Birds Rio. "People in Hollywood are really surprised with the quick acceleration in the way consumers engage with entertainment on their mobile phones. There will be some interesting entertainment partnerships that will hopefully take what we had from [Angry Birds Rio] to a totally different level."
Meanwhile, he also hinted that Rovio will finally launch an Angry Birds game on Facebook "in the near future" - we're wondering if Rovio will be part of Facebook's f8 developer conference next week with an announcement.
