UK developer offering funding, marketing, localisation and QA services to potential partners
Worms developer Team17 has moved backed into third-party publishing after nearly 20 years.
The first title signed by the studio is upcoming puzzle game Light, developed by Brighton indie Just a Pixel. The title is currently making its way through Stream Greenlight.
Team17 is also looking for other developers to take on as part of its third-party publishing initiative, and is offering services such as funding, lifecycle management, PR, marketing, localisation and QA to potential partners.
"Ultimately, the timing is right; Team17 is in a very fortunate position with a wealth of personal experience to share," read a statement from the company.
"Team17 has an incredible community running into many millions that we can cross-promote within and raise awareness for new IPs and specifically indie games, which are very close to our hearts and something we stand up for. Team17 is home to an awesome digital publishing team who have topped every digital chart from PC, console and mobile over the last couple of years.
"Most importantly, Team17 make games as well and know first-hand just what it takes to make a game and take it to market correctly across all platforms."
Team17 CEO Debbie Bestwick shared more information on the importance of digital distribution and how it turned the company into a publisher again in a column for Develop, which you can read here.
