Global publisher claims losses are minimal, suggests 'targeted' corporate cuts in progress
Take-Two has refuted MCV's earlier report that it will lay off a segment of its workforce.
The company denies that it will make any significant cuts - branding current speculation in the trade as 'erroneous'.
And while the games giant flat out denies cuts to its development workforce - which includes Rockstar Games, various 2K studios, plus Sid Meier's Firaxis and Ken Levine's Irrational Games - it has confirmed that a restructuring is in process amongst its corporate teams.
A statement from the firm reads: "As part of Take-Two’s stated goal to maximise the efficiency of our business, we initiated a targeted restructuring of our corporate departments only in order to better align our resources with our current goals.
"Some of these changes were associated with the pending sale of our Jack of All Games distribution business.
"To be clear, there were no reductions made at the studio level.”
