Creative director departs to take on new challenges

Will Luton leaves Mobile Pie

Mobile Pie creative director Will Luton has left the Bristol-based studio, it has been announced.

Luton, who will continue his monthly Develop magazine column after his departure, has worked at the mobile outfit for more than three years.

He did not reveal what his next venture would be, but said he was looking forward to tackling new challenges.

“After three and a half great years, now is the right time for me to move on to new challenges in my career in games and am looking forward to being able to talk about my next steps,” said Luton.

“The Pie is a great videogames company and I have many happy memories. Co-founders Rich and Tom put a lot of trust in me, which I’m grateful for. I’m looking forward to what the company do in the coming years.”

Mobile Pie technical director Tom Dowding added: "We’ve had a fantastic time working with Will and wish him all the best. As Mobile Pie’s first employee he has made a huge contribution to the success we’ve experienced and we’re sure he has a great career ahead of him."

The UK mobile developer was founded in 2008, and its team of 11 has worked on numerous games such as MisFits, MyStar and Home Sheep Home 2.
