Developers of The Maw and â??Splosion Man praise Granny3D tools

Twisted Pixel chooses RAD Games Tools

Popular indie game studio Twisted Pixel Games has licensed RAD Games Tools’ animation toolkit for the development of its new project, Comic Jumper.

Twisted Pixel adds that the RAD tools will be integrated “as a key component” of its BEARD game engine.

The Texas-based studio has fast built a reputation after brining both The Maw and ‘Splosion Man to the digital market. The group is also alluring key talent, having just snapped up the services of former Harmonix key lead Dan Teasdale.

No release date has been specified for Comic Jumper, though the game will be the third to use RAD’s animation toolkit, known as Granny3D.

“Granny3D has become a valuable part of our production pipeline that helps us reduce development costs and leverage our IP across multiple platforms”, said Twisted Pixel chief technology officer Frank Wilson.

“Granny3D’s highly optimized runtime and suite of tools for both art and engineering provide our development team and our engine licensees the ability to create a highly optimized pipeline for the unique requirements of their games,” he added.
