Third party dev relations boss Boyes is leaving Sony

The head of Sony’s third party developer relations Adam Boyes has announced his decision to return to development.

VentureBeat reports that Boyes confirmed his intention to leave Sony on the PlayStation blogcast. This represents a return to the pastures from where he came when joining Sony in April 2012.

He added that his stint at Sony is the longest he’s ever had at one employer. His previous roles include stints at Midway and EA.

I’ve made the super difficult decision to leave PlayStation. I want to go make games again. That’s the next chapter of Adam’s story: Making games,” Boyes said. It’s been an amazing run. I’ve been here for over four years. I had an incredible experience here.

This is my 21st year in games. My wife says, ‘why would you leave? [Every gamer] on the planet would want this job.’ But sometimes you have to follow your dreams. And throwing caution to the wind is pretty exciting — this is my big, dumb decision.”
